Opening Reception – Choice of Color

Join us for an opening reception, featuring the work of Danny Heim.

I chose the title “Choice of Color” because I am new to color. In the past I primarily worked with just two colors, black and blue in a kind of silhouette style. Then a couple of years ago I decided to try applying more colors in a similar way—what I called “block color” –one could say also a type of silhouette.

A few of the paintings in this show are depicting subjects I’ve used in the past, especially the mesa and butte landscapes; but I have found that using more color allows me a much wider range of subjects. Many of the paintings in this show, such as the cityscapes, represent that wider range.
